Privacy Policy for Clarity Loop

Welcome to Clarity Loop ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Short version: We collect no data. The App works entirely on your device. Nothing is ever sent to us or any third party.

1. Data We Collect and Access

We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

Clarity Loop is a self-contained mental wellness journaling app that runs entirely on your device. It does not require an account, does not connect to the internet, and does not transmit any information to us or any third party.

Health and Mental Wellness Data (Stored Locally on Your Device Only)

The App allows you to write and store personal thought entries, mood reflections, and mental wellness notes. This content constitutes health and mental wellness data as defined by applicable privacy regulations and Google Play's data safety policies.

We fully disclose how this data is accessed, collected, and used:

  • What health data is stored: Text-based thought entries, mood logs, mental wellness reflections, and any associated timestamps or session metadata you create within the App.
  • How it is used: Solely to display your own entries back to you within the App. This data is never analyzed, profiled, or processed for any purpose other than rendering your personal journal to you.
  • Where it is stored: Exclusively on your device using Android's local storage (AsyncStorage / SQLite). No cloud storage, remote database, or server of any kind is used.
  • Who can access it: Only you, on your device. We have zero access to this data. No employee, contractor, or third party has any access to this data.
  • Transmission: This data is never transmitted over any network under any circumstance.
  • Third-party sharing: This data is never shared with us, advertisers, analytics providers, or any other party.

No Other Personal Data Collected

The App does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, device identifiers, IP address, usage statistics, crash reports, or any other personal or device data. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs in the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

The App uses locally stored data exclusively to:

  • Display your own thought entries and wellness reflections back to you.
  • Enable you to search, edit, and delete your own entries.

No data is used for advertising, profiling, personalization by us, or any purpose beyond rendering your journal to you.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not share any data. We have no data to share. No personal or sensitive user data is sold, transferred, or disclosed to any third party for any reason.

4. Data Security

Because all data remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted, it is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, device encryption). We recommend keeping your device operating system up to date and using a device screen lock.

5. Data Retention

Your thought entries and all locally stored health and wellness data are retained on your device indefinitely for as long as the App is installed and you have not deleted the data. The data persists between sessions so you can revisit your entries over time.

  • On-device retention: Data remains on your device until you explicitly delete it via in-app deletion, clearing app data in Android Settings, or uninstalling the App.
  • Server-side retention: None. We hold zero copies of your data. No data is ever sent to us, so there is nothing for us to retain on our end.

6. Data Deletion

You have complete and immediate control over your data. You can permanently delete all health and wellness data stored by the App at any time using any of the following methods:

  • In-App deletion: Individual thought entries and journal sessions can be permanently deleted directly within the App's interface at any time.
  • Clear App Data (Android): Go to Settings > Apps > Clarity Loop > Storage > Clear Data. This immediately and permanently erases all data stored by the App without uninstalling it.
  • Uninstall the App: Uninstalling Clarity Loop from your device will permanently erase all locally stored entries and app data.

Because we hold no copies of your data, there is no need to submit a deletion request to us — you retain full, independent control to delete your data instantly at any time without contacting us. If you wish to raise a data concern, contact us at theactualsapp@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access/Portability: All your data is accessible directly within the App at any time.
  • Correction: You can edit any entry directly within the App.
  • Deletion: Delete individual entries or all data at any time (see Section 6 above).

Because no data is ever sent to us, all rights are exercised directly by you on your own device without needing to contact us.

8. Children's Privacy

Because we collect no data whatsoever and all data stays on the user's device, the App poses no privacy risk to users of any age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

9. International Data Transfers

No data is transferred internationally or to any server. All data remains on your local device.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
